Dwarkadhish Temple

The legend of this sacred Dwarka city and its considered temple is no less fascinating and layered in the historical record. According to history, there was a record claiming that Lord Krishna established the city of Dwarka after he has abandoned Braj in Uttar Pradesh. The preserved structure of the Dwarkadish Temple has also undergone major restoration work through the centuries by 16th—and 19th-century builders.

As per the estimation, the structure of the temple was built around 200 BCE but Mahmud Begada destroyed it in 1473. However, the holy nature of the place and the strength of devotees made reconstruction possible during the 15th and 16th centuries.
